Scientists identify five different types of Alzheimer's

Scientists have discovered there are five types of Alzheimer's, and this may explain why some drugs appear to be ineffective against the condition.

Dutch experts examined proteins in fluid found in the brain and spine of 400 patients.

They discovered key differences, separating the condition into five distinct sub-types, with differing clinical progressions and life expectancy.

By identifying these subtypes, scientists hope they can create targeted, effective treatments.
